Just after rebranding from Topaz to Circle K

The forecourt retailer has already added its second 24-hour service area adjacent to the motorway network, City North has just opened at Junction 7 on the M1. It can be accessed just off the ramp at the entrance to the City North Hotel. The service area provides a 24-full service building with a range of hot food and beverages available to drivers. You can relax in comfort within the building with good access to toilets and a free shower.

Dedicated HGV and Coach spaces are provided along with a fuel island with AdBlue. The main building is directly adjacent to the parking area.

The EPDA welcome the efforts that companies like Circle K are putting into the service areas. It is important that drivers have good quality rest areas that provide a place to rest and refresh. It’s important to be able to get out of the cab and feel that your vehicle is safe and that you have access to clean and well-maintained facilities.

For drivers who are looking for a rest area on the M1 after 11pm and before 6am this area is the only service area on the M1 with 24-hour access to the building. If you are looking to hook up with other professional drivers then this area ticks all the boxes.

As professional drivers we must be aware that these facilities are run by commercial organisations and are off line service areas which do not get any state support or EU funding. We have our role to play in supporting any service area that provides the highest standard of service on a 24-hour basis. The EPDA welcomes your views and any comments you may have in relation to service areas. We are asking all professional drivers to support companies that are provide the highest standards of service to professional drivers.
